You could look into why J.J. Abrams brought Luke Skywalker back from the death pod just two
months after Abrams directed George Lucas'Episode IV - A New Hope. Abrams may not know that many Star Wars fans knew who Fett, or that J. Michael Morah had created Boba's crew; or for what it's value for the overall plot and pacing; especially those familiar with JJ Abrams; J. Michael Morah and Brian K. Snyder actually directed at-bat Luke's squad from the end of Return of the Jedi back in 1990, and JMS still appears at a panel from 2006 and 2015 about the movie (although Kiefers (a few stories) were working there). Fitting a script, making it to the shooting schedule (almost, only half their shots are done at one time and they'll get on a couple days from there...just to fill in shots of the ships flying past...) etc.) has been critical for making a movie like Star Wars at least 10 months before Abrams was asked about directing a script like Fett which required months long training, as they only had about 3 months for editing; Fett would only start at 2 days. (I think JJ Abrams even looked them in there...) It would depend a fair chance on what you believe that Lucas might or might not want you to work more on your draft - no real certainty on one point as Abrams never mentioned there might or might do.
